To prohibit individuals who are not citizens of the United States from voting in elections in the District of Columbia and to repeal the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022.

What Would Change

A 2022 law (D.C. Law 24-242) currently allows individuals who are not U.S. citizens to vote in local elections in Washington D.C. This law is called the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act. If this bill becomes law, these individuals would no longer be allowed to vote. This includes any election for public office, ballot initiative, or referendum in the District of Columbia.
