This bill would require Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officers to get annual training. This training would teach them how to interact with members of Indian Tribes and how to recognize their tribal documents. Officers would learn to accept Native American tribal documents as proof of U.S. citizenship. The Secretary of Homeland Security would create this training with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Indian Tribes.
