This bill, called 'Virginia's Law,' would create new ways for victims of sexual abuse and transportation for illegal sexual activity to sue those who harmed them. It would also remove time limits for civil lawsuits involving severe sexual abuse, transportation for illegal sexual activity, and human trafficking. Importantly, some victims whose claims were previously too old to file would get a one-year window to bring their cases to court.

This bill would require colleges to offer updated, evidence-based programs to prevent alcohol and substance misuse among students and employees. It would also expand services to include recovery support and help for students returning after issues. The bill sets aside $15 million each year for six years to fund these efforts.

This bill would set aside an extra $1 million each year for five years to help states manage food programs. This money would go to programs that provide food to low-income seniors and families, and emergency food assistance. It aims to make sure these programs have enough support to operate smoothly.

Currently, the U.S. government (through the Secretary) can extend deadlines for the Regional Water System after talking with other groups. This bill creates a new option. It lets all five involved parties jointly agree to an extension if they decide it's necessary.
