Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 1689) to require the Secretary of Homeland Security to designate Haiti for temporary protected status.

Haitian nationals living in the U.S. would get temporary protected status until 2029.

If passed, this resolution would require the Department of Homeland Security to grant temporary protected status to Haitian nationals in the United States. This protection would allow them to live and work legally in the U.S. until April 20, 2029. It would also set up a fast-track process for the House to vote on and pass the underlying bill.
