Federal employees and contractors would get paid during government shutdowns in the 2026 budget year. This bill sets aside money to ensure they receive their regular pay, protecting them from unpaid furloughs. It also prevents agencies from laying off workers or putting them on long administrative leave during these shutdowns.

This bill would create a new, independent Inspector General for the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation. This office would help make sure the corporation spends its money wisely and runs its programs well. It would also require yearly financial checks by outside experts.
