Community Health Center Drug Pricing Protection Act

Key Provisions

• Would stop the Secretary of Health and Human Services from making agreements with drug makers. These agreements could not make community health centers pay more than the lowest allowed price for certain outpatient drugs when they buy them.
• Would block drug makers from charging community health centers more upfront for these drugs and then offering a refund later.
• Would start these new rules immediately if the bill becomes law. These rules would apply to all drug purchases from that day forward. Existing agreements would also need to follow the new rules.
